स्मृतीबनातून

आज आंतरराष्ट्रीय भाषांतर दिवस साजरा केला जातो. गुरुदेव रवींद्रनाथ टागोर यांच्या नोबेल पुरस्कार प्राप्त गीतांजलीतील काव्याचा सध्या मी  मराठीत भावानुवाद करत आहे. अनेक मित्र, मैत्रिणी, गुरुजन आणि जाणकारांनी मला भरघोस प्रतिसाद दिला. त्यामुळे माझा आत्मविश्वास दुणावला. आजच्या आंटरराश गीतांजलीतील हे चौथं पुष्प. आपला अभिप्राय अवश्य नोंदवा. गुरुदेव टागोरांच्या गीतांजलीतील हे सहावे पुष्प. कवीने स्वतःला पुष्प प्रतीमे द्वारे व्यक्त केले आहे. म्लान होण्या आधी, माझ्यात काही कमतरता असल्या तरीही मला तू अनुग्रहित करावे असे परमेश्र्वराकडे आर्जव करतात. "Pluck this little flower and take it, delay not! I fear lest it droop and drop into the dust I may not find a place in thy garland, but honour it with a touch of pain from thy hand and pluck it. I fear lest the day end before I am aware, and the time of offering go by. गीतांजलीतील हे 16 वे पुष्प. मूळ बंगाली पण गुरुदेव रविंद्रनाथांनीच केलेल्या इंग्रजी भाषांतरा वरून केलेला हा मराठी भावानुवाद...  आपले साधक बाधक अभिप्राय महत्त्वाचे आहेत.  ब्लॉग आवडल्यास अन्य मंडळींना तो अग्रेशीत करू शकता. " I have had my invitation to this world's festival, and thus my life has been blessed. My eyes have seen and my ears have heard. या विशाल विश्वात मनुष्याचे अस्तित्व हे नगण्य आहे. ईश्र्वराशी अनुसंधान साधणे हेच त्याचे मुख्य कर्म आहे. अन्यथा त्याचे जीवन व्यर्थ आहे. तेव्हा तूझ्या प्रथानेची संधी देवून तुझ्या दर्शनाचा लाभ होवो अशी मनीषा रवींद्रनाथ टागोर या कवितेतून मांडतात. "I am here to sing thee songs. In this hall of thine I have a corner seat. In thy world I have no work to do; my useless life can only break out in tunes without a purpose. When the hour strikes for thy silent worship at the dark temple of midnight, command me, my master, to stand before thee to sing. गुरुदेव टागोर यांच्या गीतांजली या संग्रहातील हे तिसरं गीत. त्यांनी निरनिराळ्या काव्यातून प्रभू प्रती श्रद्धा व्यक्त केली आहे. या गीतात त्यांनी प्रभूला मास्टर म्युझिशियन संबोधलं आहे. त्याच्याच संगीताची अवघं विश्व भरल्या गेलं आहे. ते म्हणतात यात मलाही संम्मिलित व्हायचं आहे पण ती क्षमता माझ्यात नाही... "I know not how thou singest, my master! I ever listen in silent amazement. The light of thy music illumines the world. The life breath of thy music runs from sky to sky. The holy stream of thy music breaks through all stony obstacles and rushes on. My heart longs to join in thy song, but vainly struggles for a voice. I would speak, but speech breaks not into song, and I cry out baffled. गीतांजली या इंग्रजी काव्य संग्रहा साठी साहित्याचा नोबेल पुरस्कार मिळवणारे गुरुदेव टागोर हे युरोपियन नसलेले पहिले पुरस्कार विजेते. गीतांजलीतील काव्य म्हणजे गुरुदेव टागोर यांनी सृष्टी निर्माता/परमेश्वर याच्या प्रती व्यक्त केलेलं भावदर्शन...मूळ इंग्रजी काव्या वरून केलेला हा भावानुवाद...आवडल्यास/नावडल्यास अभिप्राय नोंदवा. आवडल्यास अग्रेशित करू शकता. गुरुदेव रवींद्रनाथ टागोर यांच्या गीतांजलीतील हे 13 वं पुष्प. परमेश्वर प्राप्ती हे मनुष्य जन्माचं अंतीम उद्दिष्ट प्राप्त करून घेतानाची भावावस्था त्यांनी या गीतात मांडली आहे. "The song that I came to sing remains unsung to this day. I have spent my days in stringing and in unstringing my instrument. The time has not come true, the words have not been rightly set; only there is the agony of wishing in my heart. The blossom has not opened; only the wind is sighing by. I have not seen his face, nor have I listened to his voice; only I have heard his gentle footsteps from the road before my house. The livelong day has passed in spreading his seat on the floor; but the lamp has not been lit and I cannot ask him into my house. गुरुदेव रवींद्रनाथ टागोर यांच्या गीतांजलितील हे 38 वे पुष्प. लौकिक आयुष्यातील आसक्ती, वासना सतत अडथळे निर्माण करीत असल्या तरी तुझ्याच मिलनाचा ध्यास कुठेतरी खोल अंतरात वसतो याची हमी ते त्या सर्वेशाला देत आहेत. मूळ बंगाली परंतु गुरुदेव टागोरांनी इंग्रजीत केलेलं भाषांतर वाचून घडलेला हा भावानुवाद. 'That I want thee, only thee - let my heart repeat without end. All desires that distract me, day and night, are false and empty to the core. As the night keeps hidden in its gloom the petition for light, even thus in the depth of my unconsciousness rings the cry - 'I want thee, only thee'.
